Summer 2024 Meal Plan Options

Dining Services offers a simplified meal plan option for summer. The Summer Unlimited meal plan offers unlimited meals at Heilman Dining Center and a $40 weekly Dining Dollar bonus that's applied in total for the number of weeks of your summer residency. This means your unlimited meals will only cost you $125 per week.

 

Transition Week

Transition Week is the week between spring and summer term, May 13-19, 2024. During this time students are unable to opt out of the meal plan regardless of their residential location. Due to the HDC being closed May 13–19, an additional $80 in Dining Dollars will be added to your meal plan, for those meal plans active on May 20-22 when the HDC is closed an additional $50 will be added.

 

Extend Stay

Students approved for housing during Extend Stay, the period between the universal move-out date for summer housing and the move-in date for fall housing, may not opt out of the meal plan.

Residence Halls

Students residing in the residence halls will automatically be assigned the Summer Unlimited meal plan. The plan provides a double room*, unlimited personal meals at Heilman Dining Center, and $40 Dining Dollars per week to be used at retail campus dining locations. Dining Dollars are allotted in total for the number of weeks of scheduled residence.

UFA/Gateway Apartments

Students living in on-campus apartments will automatically be assigned the Summer Unlimited meal plan. The plan provides a double room*, unlimited meals at Heilman Dining Center, and $40 Dining Dollars per week. Dining Dollars are allotted in total for the number of weeks of scheduled residence.


Students living in the apartments may opt out of the Summer Unlimited meal plan. Student must submit the meal plan changes form to opt out of the summer meal by 5p.m. EST the Tuesday before their contracted term starts. Students may not opt out of the meal plan once their term starts.

Commuting Students

Commuter students are not required to purchase a meal plan, but may send an email request to onecard@richmond.edu to purchase one of these two meal plan options:

Summer Unlimited - $125 Weekly Rate
The Summer Unlimited plan may be purchased by commuting students in weekly blocks up to 10 weeks from May 12 through July 27. This plan provides unlimited personal meals at Heilman Dining Center, and $40 Dining Dollars per week to be used at retail Dining Services locations on campus. Dining Dollars are allotted in total for the number of weeks purchased.

Mini Flex – $105 Weekly Rate
The Mini Flex may be purchased by commuting students in weekly blocks up to 10 weeks from May 12 through July 27 and provides $105 a week in Dining Dollars to be used at any Dining Services retail location and for discounted meals at Heilman Dining Center.

Why Buy a Meal Plan?

Commuters and students living in on-campus apartments are not required to purchase a summer meal plan. However, all purchases with Dining Dollars at the Heilman Dining Center and retail operations on campus are tax-free. Therefore, you save 13.5% on each dine-in purchase or as much as 7.5% on retail purchases.
