Help Me Coffee Girl!

"I'll have Large, quad, non-fat, sugar free vanilla, dry cappuccino, please!"

Learning the basics of "latte lingo" will help you to be ready to order,  once you reach the counter.

How to order your drink:

1. Cup

The first thing a barista (the guy or gal making your yummy drink) needs to know is what cup to grab for your drink so they can start marking and making. And keep in mind, there's no "regular size."

2. Shots and size

Do you want decaf or extra espresso? Small drinks usually come with one shot; Medium usually two; and Large drinks usually have two, unless they are Iced. So If you add a shot to a small, you're getting a double-small, and if you ordered an extra shot to a Medium you'd have a triple- medium. 2 extra shots in a large would make a Qadruple Large...

3. Syrup

We have lots of different syrup flavors to sweeten or spice up a drink. We also cary 3 sugar free flavors, so you can get all the flavor with zero guilt. 8:15 at Boatwright now carries SPLENDA brand sweetner, so your drink can be even more uniquely yours.  Don't know what kind of syurp you'd like? Just ask a barista what thier favorite is, that's always a good way to experiment.

4. Milk and other modifiers

This is when you tell us what milk you want. And if you want something else, like "extra hot" or "extra foamy." Drinks are always made with Whole Milk if you don't specify, so make sure you tell the barista or cashier what kind of milk you really want if you don't want whole.

5. The drink itself

Are you having a latte, mocha, or something entirely different? The combinations are deliciously endless! Look at the bottom of this page for a list of glossary terms to help you along.

Example;

" I'd like to have an iced (1), decaf (a), triple (b), Medium (c) (2), sugar-free vanilla (4), skim(a), light ice (b)(4), Latte (5)."

"May I please have a large(1) quad (2) Raspberry (3) latte (4), with extra whipped cream(5)."
