HDC Renovation

The servery in the Heilman Dining Center will undergo an exciting renovation this summer! Reflecting the trends and needs of the current generation of students, the new servery will focus on global cuisines and provide destination dining for our guests.

New dining locations will be easily recognizable as destinations for specific cuisine. The pasta and pizza station will be known as Herb & Olive and offer a wider range of Mediterranean foods. The former Spider Grill will be renamed Provisions 804. The new Plant Life station will focus on plant-based menus, while Daily Bite will feature popular daily specials. Wander is the new name for the global cuisine station and will retain the large Mongolian-style grill. Bruce’s, named for the former University president and late Chancellor Bruce E. Heilman, will receive cosmetic upgrades. Handcrafted Daily is the new name for the panini and deli area.

A new station, to be known as Fare, is being created for our students with special diets.

Cosmetic upgrades to the salad and dessert stations of the Heilman Dining Center servery were completed in 2021 and plans to upgrade the remaining stations have been prepared by the foodservice design consultant Bakergroup.

The work will be completed this summer by Century Construction, scheduled to begin the week of May 9 and conclude by July 31. Upgrades to the remaining stations will be compatible with the work done last summer and will include new floor tile, wall tile, paint, cabinet fronts, counter tops, lighting, and video menu boards.

HDC will remain open throughout the construction and will serve guests out of the North Dining Room.

This exciting renovation will provide an upgraded dining experience for our campus and community guests. Check this page throughout the summer for updates and sneak peeks!
