Maurice Black is the Relief Manager and Special Events Coordinator for University of Richmond Dining Services. Black manages and oversees all areas in the Heilman Dining Center (HDC), in addition to managing other on-campus food service areas, such as retail, concessions, and catering. He is also responsible for planning and executing all HDC special events.
“I love the flexibility and the freedom to bring events alive through my creativity,” Black said of his role with Dining Services. Black is a talented food artist and self-taught ice carver, which visitors can often see on display at special events. In his free time, Black enjoys drawing, cooking unique dishes, and spending quality time with family (he is dad to a Spider alumna).
