International Education Week in Dining Services

Dining Services partners with the Center for Global Engagement each year to celebrate the culinary culture of countries around the world through food events and specials. For more about non-culinary International Week events, visit the Center for Global Engagement.

Monday, November 17

Ghanaian Breakfast
7-10:30 a.m., Heilman Dining Center

Kick off International Education Week with a special breakfast in D-hall. The Provisions 804 station will feature Toasted Coconut Millet Porridge, Ginger Millet Porridge, Bofrot (aka Puff Puff), which is a sweet fried dough rolled in sugar and spices, and fried plantains.

 

Tuesday, November 18 

Ghanaian Drinks
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Heilman Dining Center

Try three refreshing Ghanaian drinks at lunch in D-hall. Choose from a hibiscus drink known as Sobolo, hot Ashanti Cocoa African tea, and Atadwe, a drink made from tiger nut, which is not a nut, but a small tuber with a sweet, almond-like flavor. Available while supplies last.

 

Wednesday, November 19

International Education Week Ghanaian Dinner
4:30-8 p.m., Heilman Dining Center

Embark on a culinary adventure with an array of Ghanaian dishes. Guests will be encouraged to try ingredients they know (chicken, crab, shrimp, eggplant, black-eyed peas, spinach) prepared with traditional Ghanaian flavors. Staff will be on hand to answer questions. A glossary of Ghanaian dishes is also available here
