Meal Plan Requirements

The University of Richmond identification card serves as a meal card, debit card, and student ID. It may only be used by the individual to whom it is issued, and is not transferrable. Locations and meal plan access maybe limited or unavailable during academic breaks. Please refer to the Dining Services’ website and calendar for current details and updated information.

• Only currently enrolled University of Richmond students can participate in meal plan selection.
• Meal plan participation is required as part of the residence hall housing agreement.
• All students living in campus residence halls or in Pacific and Atlantic Houses are required to purchase meal plans.
• Students will make meal plan selection during room draw on Star Rez.
• Students living in the residence halls are required to have the Spider Unlimited or may upgrade to the Spider Plus Unlimited for more Dining Dollars.
• Students living off campus, off-campus Law, Law students residing at Bostwick House, MBA, and SPCS students are not required to have a meal plan, but can purchase a Spider Red, Spider Blue, Spider 40, Spider Unlimited and Spider Plus Unlimited. To make a selection log in to Bannerweb, click on Student Services, then click on the Housing Main Menu, click on Star Rez and then click on the off campus meal plan link to select a meal plan. Please check Spiderbytes regularly for more information and deadlines for changes.
• Students residing in the University Forest or Gateway Village apartments are not required to purchase a meal plan but may participate in Spider Plus Unlimited, Spider Unlimited and Spider 40. You will be given an opportunity during room selection to choose a meal plan.
• The selection of the Spider Plus Unlimited will result in an additional expense beyond the Spider Unlimited that may not be covered by scholarship funds.
• Returning students will choose a meal plan during the housing selection process.

Student Athletes

• All student athletes living in a residence hall are required to have the Spider Unlimited. However, student athletes may select the Spider Plus Unlimited upgrade, but will be responsible for any additional expense not covered by their respective athletic scholarships.
• Any undergraduate student athlete living off-campus must purchase the Spider Blue plan at minimum.
• Any graduate student athlete living off-campus must purchase the Spider Red plan at minimum.
